The 2025 Society of Ancients Battle Day will feature the clash of Viking and English shieldwalls at Maldon (AD 991). In preparation for this I have updated my Shieldwall rules to refight the battle.
We will be running a test game next month. The rules incorporate some of the ideas and mechanisms that have worked so well with 'Alala! Still work in progress, Shieldwall is available as a free download from the Rules Section of my website. No doubt they will evolve further over the coming months so I have added the date to the pages for version control.
